Aventura tennis players inspired by watching the Wimbledon finals will have to wait awhile before hitting the courts.

The two tennis courts at Aventura's Founders Park will be closed starting July 6 for what's billed as a routine resurfacing. 

The $9,900 project could be wrapped up in about five days if the weather cooperates, Community Services Director Robert Sherman says. But more rain could delay reopening for an extra week. 

The city is playing it safe, listing the reopening date as July 19.
