Fun, fireworks mark July 4 holiday

The sound of fireworks, both organized and improvisational -- echoes far into the night as the nation marked its 233rd birthday July 4.

The Caterpillar's Dream sculpture was the focus of attention July 4 at the re-dedication of State Sen. Gwen Margolis Park in Sunny Isles Beach.
In Aventura, the $25,000 Zambelli extravaganza co-sponsored by the city and the Fairmont at Turnberry resort did not disappoint. There were ooohs and ahhs from the crowd along County Club Drive and applause from those watching from balconies.
In Sunny Isles Beach, the day was marked with a family theme. While a youth soccer game occupied one end of State Sen. Gwen Margolis Park, the Caterpillar's Dream artwork was the focus of a re-dedication ceremony.
