In her new role, she will oversee all operational activities in the unit that cares for stroke patients, patients requiring specially monitored cardiac therapy treatment and patients requiring ventilators. The unit is located on the sixth floor of the hospital's north tower.

Vymlatil comes to Aventura from Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center where she was director of emergency services, coordinating care for a 19-bed emergency department as well as for the Cardiac Institute and the center's cardiac receiving facility. She worked at Palm Beach Gardens for more than a decade as a nurse and as manager of the intensive care unit before being named a director.

“Melanie is a natural leader,” said Heather Rohan, chief executive officer of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. “She is a passionate and self-motivated professional who communicates with patients and with staff alike in a caring and compassionate manner.  We are excited to welcome her to our Aventura family.”

Vymlatil is working toward her masters degree in health administration and nursing.  She has a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix and an associates degree in nursing from Palm Beach Community College.
