Aventura developer faces foreclosure on hotel

Zedek Associates of Aventura and managing partner Gabor Rado have been hit with a $13.5 million foreclosure lawsuit over a South Beach hotel project.

TD Bank of Canada has filed the paperwork in Miami-Dade County Court over beachfront property at 321 Ocean Drive, the South Florida Business Journal reports. Zedek Associates had planned to replace the historic Simone Hotel at that site with a larger hotel. Zedek won approval from the Miami Beach Historical Preservation Board to demolish the Simone but the work never began, the Business Journal says.
