Aventura Hospital staff launches monthly charitable effort

The staff of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center has launched a charitable endeavor called the Aventura Circle that will take on one targeted cause each month.

The group’s name is an acronym for its  motto: Community Involvement Requires Concerned Loving Employees.

In June, the staff donated more than 50 bags of clothing to Safe Space, a program that aids women and children who are victims of abuse.

“We are immensely grateful to the staff at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center for helping us in our endeavor to provide clothing to women and children in our communities,” said Cassandra Armstrong, social worker for Safe Space.  “Our program is not only designed to provide victims of abuse with a safe refuge, it is also designed to help these women get a fresh start in life.  They can wear the clothes that the Aventura Circle has donated when they go to interviews for new jobs to help provide for their families.”

This month, the Aventura Circle is collecting non-perishable food for Stop Hunger, Inc. In August, the group plans to donate school supplies to Kids in Distress and to a local community school.
