A three-year-old boy has drowned in Oleta River State Park off NE 163 rd Street in North Miami Beach.

Miami-Dade Police say the child apparently  became separated from his family about 4 p.m. July 23. A bystander spotted the body in the water and pulled it onto shore.

Park rangers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. The boy was taken to Jackson North Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim has not been released.
