No injuries in Marian Tower blaze
Miami-Dade fire crews made quick work of a smoky fire in a second-floor apartment at Marian Towers in Sunny Isles Beach.
About 7 p.m. July 27, a resident of the 172nd Street tower knocked on the door of Fire Station 10 next door and alerted firefighters to the blaze. Fire Rescue scrambled Aerial 10 and Ladder 10 and a second alarm brought another 13 units.
Fire crews located the fire scene and found the unit fully involved. There were no residents in the unit but fire crews helped several neighbors evacuate the 160-unit building. Residents were evaluated at the scene but none required medical treatment.
Within 30 minutes, the fire was extinguished and the crews turned to clearing the building of smoke.
