NFL quarterback buys Aventura condo
Just days after one NFL player made plans to leave Aventura, another is moving in.
Byron Leftwich, who is competing for the quarterback job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has bought a 2,984-square-foot unit in the Peninsula condo complex on NE 183rd Street.
BlockShopper.com is reporting he paid seller Sheldon Russakoff $685,000 for the two-bedroom, three-bath unit.
Leftwich was originally drafted out of Marhsall University by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He started 44 games over four seasons for Jacksonville but lost his starting job. He was a backup quarterback in Atlanta and last year was with Pittsburgh. He played in five games for the Steelers last year.
At the end of July, Darren Sharper, an All-Pro safety with the New Orleans Saints, listed his 6,362-square-foot Island Boulevard home for sale with an asking price of $3.3 million. He bought the property in February 2007.
