Pizza delivery man gets a surprise

Aventura police reports from Aug. 1-10:

A woman who told police she was in fear for her life was arrested on a count of aggravated assault after she pointed a firearm at a pizza delivery person.  Heather Raley of Commodore Plaza on 183rd Street said she hadn’t ordered any pizza but the delivery man wouldn’t go away. She said he banged on her door for 10 minutes before she got her weapon – a .380 semi-automatic -- and opened the door. The 43-year-old delivery man was not injured.

Man mugged for $10 at Waterways Shops

A 21-year-old Hallandale man told police two juveniles beat him and stole $10 as he walked near the Peppermill restaurant after midnight Aug. 8. The victim, Cristian Zatonyl, said the suspects were aged 16 or 17 and fled on foot toward the parking lot of the Waterways Shops on NE 207th Street. Zatonyl was treated at the scene for abrasions to his chin and knee.

Police withhold details on two incidents

Aventura police are investigating a strong-armed robbery and vehicle burglary Aug. 5 in the parking garage of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on NE 191st Street and a grand theft Aug. 1 from a residence at Waterways Village on NE 207th Street but declined to release details of either incident.
