Chef Allen protege moves to Ft. Lauderdale
Chef Allen's Modern Seafood Bistro's loss is the 15th Street Fisheries' gain.
Daniel Serfer, who rose to chef de cuisine in his five years at the Aventura bistro, will take over as executive chef of the Ft. Lauderdale oceanfront eatery Sept. 4, Miami New Times is reporting.
Serfer is the latest in a long line of South Florida chefs who have honed their craft under Aventura's iconic Allen Susser before striking out on their own.
Serfer tells News Times he's planning a though redo of the 15th St. Fisheries' menu by November. For the New Times story, see: http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/shortorder/2009/09/15th_street_fisheries_hooks_ch.phphttp://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/shortorder/2009/09/15th_street_fisheries_hooks_ch.php
