An Aventura attorney is among those being targeted in a statewide investigation into loan modification and foreclosure avoidance programs that turn out to be scams.

Daniel Fox, 32, was disbarred last month after pleading guilty to abandoning clients seeking loan modifications, the Daily Business Review reports. The attorney general's office has 50 complaints against Fox.

In total, the attorney general's office is looking into 756 complaints through August, up from 61 in all of 2008.
