Judge may force sale of Soffer’s Vegas venture
Jeffrey Soffer's Las Vegas dream could go poof as early as Oct. 7.
That's the day a Miami judge has set for a hearing on whether to name an outside third-party to negotiate the sale of the stalled $1 billion Fontainebleau Las Vegas project to satisfy creditors.
Soffer, an Aventura developer whose family carved Aventura out of the North Dade swamp, is opposed to the plan advanced by Judge A. Jay Cristol, the Miami Herald reports. Soffer says he has a buyer and just needs more time to close the deal.
