SIB’s History Hall makes its debut… in a hallway

The History Hall, a remodeled corridor on the main floor of Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, traces the city's past.
The rise of Sunny Isles Beach from low-rise motels and dusty open space to high-rise towers and lush landscaping is on display at the city's new History Hall.
The exhibit of aerial photos, newspaper articles and postcard art is located in a renovated hallway off the lobby of the city's Government Center on Collins Avenue. A series of alcoves help shape the hangings into museum-like exhibits.
The History Hall opened Oct. 15 and is a tribute to the efforts of city historian Richard Schulman. A small audience of about 25 ooh-ed and ah-ed as they took a first look at the display. It's a tight fit in the narrow corridor leading to the center's parking garage, but then the city is barely a teenager.
