Aventura developers hit with foreclosure suit

Six weeks after the Bank of Florida reported over $40 million in delinquent loans had compromised its capitalization ratios, the bank moved against an Aventura group that it says is among the largest of its delinquent borrowers.

Bank of Florida has sued Lantana Plaza Development, seeking to seize the group's troubled Lake Worth shopping center in a foreclosure action, the South Florida Business Journal is reporting. Court records list Michael Levin, Jose Corkidi, Aharon Bitton and Mike Ben-David as managing members of Lantana Plaza Development.

The project is an unfinished 81,000-square-foot shopping center onĀ  a 9.8-acre site on Lantana Road in Lake Worth. Lantana Plaza Development took a $7.1 million mortgage on the project in 2007.
