The publishers of talkofaventura.com reluctantly have decided to suspend service.

It is a business decision. Based on our analysis and experience, we have determined that our business plan and this market are not a good match today. The community needs and deserves real news coverage. The demographic is attractive but the impediments -- from an audience with limited community roots, merchants who are not yet in the digital age and some institutional resistance to news coverage -- are daunting today.

We would like to thank the many people who were receptive -- the readers, the Aventura-Sunny Isles Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Sunny Isles Beach city government, Gulfstream Park, our guest columnists and the newsmakers, particularly those who worked with us on the '5Q' interview program.

This is not goodbye. We continue to have an interest in this community and we'll be monitoring developments. If and when the situation changes, we'll gladly take another run at becoming the news source for these two fine communities. Until then, enjoy the view.
